Three of the club’s longtime members—Don Middleton, Clayton Wilson, and Meno Jose—have sponsored Toronto Rainbowlers for the past several years. Their support has helped Rainbowlers bring in new members through community marketing. They’ve also helped the group put on special events including the annual Pride Week celebration, where Don can usually be seen sporting one of his trademark rainbow-coloured vests.

Don and Clayton have another important connection to Pride Week. In 2006 they were, along with another couple, named Grand Marshals of Toronto’s Pride Parade. The couples were honoured by the LGBT community for their longterm commitment—Don and Clayton have been together as an open, proud gay couple for some six decades.

Meno Jose, a close friend of Don and Clayton, is well-known at Cosburn for his skilled bowling, calm and friendly demeanour, and the delicious snacks he brings to events. A dedicated tournament bowler, he’s twice been a medal winner at the provincial level.
